Who is this man?

by on March 25, 2010

He’s the king of kings, he’s the lord of lords
He can heal the sick, he can calm the storm
He’s the son of God, he can save us from sin
And he calls us to follow him!

Chatting to the kids

This morning we ran a mammoth SRE assembly for a bunch of very well behaved kids from South Coogee Public School. We had a big age range, from Kindy to Year 4, but with some puppet action, lots of interactive skits and some excellent singing, the kids stayed engaged and entertained as we asked the big question: who is Jesus?

It’s a challenge doing something like this with next to no rehearsal, but the team valiantly stepped up and volunteered for various parts in the skits retelling bits of Jesus’ life (though it was hard to get a volunteer to play Jesus!). Bainsey and Andrew made the kids laugh with their puppet shenanigans, Bec got the kids singing and dancing with the song ‘Who is this man?’ and Cameron tied it all together with a short talk about Jesus and what he did for us at the cross. The kids took it all in and asked some excellent questions about Jesus and God at the end of the assembly.

Scripture in schools is such a vital area of ministry, and we are so blessed to be able to teach it in NSW. Please thank God for this opportunity, and pray for the kids of South Coogee Public School, that they would commit their young lives to Christ.
