North Sydney/Northbridge

by on March 29, 2011

Day 2 was a long one, with opportunities to meet the staff at St Thomas’ and St Mark’s, as well as from the City Bible Forum (CBF, http://www.citybibleforum.org/).  There was also plenty of planning for the rest of the week, and particularly for the scripture classes on Day 3.

Scripture was up first this morning, with the girls hitting North Sydney Girl’s High (with over 200 students at the talk) and the guys at Northbridge Primary School (with two lots of about 60 kids).  After lunch, we joined a few members of the CBF to do some walk-up in the streets of North Sydney.  We were able to pass on details of CBF’s weekly meetings through a number of conversations.  Please pray for CBF’s work in the city.

Finally, we were given an overview of St Thomas’ unique wedding ministry.  Its purpose is solely evangelistic, and utilises their beautiful church building.  Only non-christian couples can participate in the ministry, and are required to attend a wedding preparation course, and a christianity explained course prior to being married at St Thomas’.  They don’t just receive a great preparation for their marriage, but through this are exposed to the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Please pray for this ministry’s growth.

Please also remember the remaining scripture classes tomorrow, as well as a couple of dialogue meetings happening tomorrow night, where some of the team will give testimonies and talks.
