Youth Group: only for the suburbs?

by on April 2, 2011

I’d never thought about it, but running an inner city youth group must be really hard. Lots of families move out to the suburbs when their kids get to that age and it means that an inner city youth group is almost always going to be small and hard to run. Even so, when some of us visited the St Stephens youth group tonight we saw a bunch of faithful leaders working hard at nurturing teenagers as they understand and own their faith. Praise God!

Sam spoke on the Parable of the Wedding Banquet. He managed to weave in the Royal Wedding and we all learnt that there will be 150 different types of canapes and that the cake will be a three tiered fruit cake. More importantly we saw that God has issued us an invitation to The Wedding Banquet and that we need to think about whether we have accepted or rejected it.

Thank God for the chance to debrief together after the night and for the chance for Geoff, Nathan and Sam to share some of their wisdom. Pray for the group to make faithful disciples who will go out and proclaim the gospel!
